We are advocates for accountability, expecting measurable results from all those who participate in local public education.

We are advocates for improvement, encouraging innovative practices and programs that make public education better.

We generate resources, facilitating investments in public education by private, public and philanthropic resources.

Support innovative teaching and learning in the Hartford public schools by making a contribution to HEF.  Here's how.

Here's what teachers are saying about the impact of Teacher Grants!

This grant helped my 7th and 8th grade students expand a world they were hardly familiar with. True science was accomplished.

Science equipment at Burr Elementary

Studying the rainforest absolutely grabbed the imagination of the students. Being able to integrate the rainforest into our science Sound unit made it very satisfying for teachers and students alike.

Books, music CDs, computer software at Naylor Elementary

Opportunities to use new and different materials, for both the students and me was wonderful.

Art supplies at Sanchez Elementary

This was such wonderful and far-reaching experience for both students and teachers…providing us all an opportunity to grow and learn outside the confines of the curriculum.

Visiting storyteller at Webster Elementary

The students were very motivated and excited by the exposure to new technology. It proved an incredible motivational tool.
